Image Quality Guidelines Our quality standards are aimed at providing useful imagery that designers may confidently use in their projects. Learn about common quality issues and try to avoid them.

1. Our content editors review each file to check for basic technical and quality requirements. Please review the requirements below before uploading your files to Picsbay.

2. Copyrights You may only upload images to Picsbay that you have entirely created on your own. For derivative works (e.g. remixes / composings), you may use images from Picsbay, but no other sources are allowed. Particularly, do not copy images from "wallpaper sites" that claim to offer free images. Such images are well protected by copyrights. Also, if you have purchased images from a commercial stock site, you may have permission to use them in your own project, but it is prohibited to redistribute them as your own work. Also, do not copy images from other users on Picsbay and upload them to your own account. (edited)

3. Offensive Content Content uploaded must not be offensive in nature (including graphic nudity, violence, hateful, false, illegal or misleading content). Any content deemed offensive will not be approved.

4. Visual Requirements Any image on Picsbay must have a well defined subject, clear focus, and compelling colors. Unintentional blurriness, extrem angles or crookedness, chromatic aberration, JPEG compression artifacts, and image noise must be avoided - just like any kind of embedded text, particularly time stamps, signatures and logos. Please browse our inspiring list of Editor's Choice images for examples of high quality photos. You may want to take a look at our list of recently declined images to get a better understanding of what is not accepted on Picsbay. A few selected examples of unacceptable images are given below. The first photo shows strong JPEG artifacts due to too aggressive compression:

6.  Embedded time stamps are unacceptable. Also, don't include your name or any copyright marks. In fact, any text should be avoided, because Pixabay is international - and embedded texts poses a language problem.
